Educational Qualification
AO Generalists:
Graduate Degree/Post Graduate Degree in any discipline such as Engineering, Arts, Science, Commerce, Agriculture, Data Science, etc., from a recognized university with 60% marks. The minimum is 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. Working knowledge of computers is mandatory.
AO Hindi Officers:
Master’s Degree from a recognized university in Hindi with English as a compulsory/elective subject or medium, OR Master’s Degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or medium, with other specified Hindi-English combinations as detailed in the notification. The requirement is 60% marks, relaxed to 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
The qualification must have been completed by 30 June 2026. Candidates whose final examination results were declared after this date are not eligible.

The selection process will comprise:
- Tier-I Preliminary Examination
- Tier-II Main Examination
- Descriptive Test
- Interview

Candidates qualifying the required stages will be shortlisted for the Interview.
For the final merit list, Main Examination and Interview carry weightage of 75:25. For Generalists, the Preliminary Examination and Descriptive Test are not counted for final merit. For Hindi Officers, Tier-II including the Descriptive Test and Interview is considered in the 75:25 ratio.

Descriptive Test: 50 marks, 60 minutes covering English Essay, Hindi Essay, Hindi Letter Writing, English-to-Hindi Translation and Hindi-to-English Translation.
Negative Marking: For every wrong answer in the objective examinations, 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. There is no penalty for unanswered questions.
UIIC AO Recruitment 2026 Salary
Selected candidates will receive Basic Pay in the scale of ₹82,485–4,050(14)–₹1,39,185–4,390(4)–₹1,56,745 along with admissible allowances and benefits.
Other benefits include Gratuity, LTS, Medical Benefits, Group Personal Accident Insurance, NPS and leased accommodation as per company rules. The approximate gross salary at metropolitan centres is ₹1,10,000 per month.
