RRC SER Scouts & Guides Quota Recruitment 2026: South Eastern Railway Scouts & Guides Quota Recruitment 2026-27: South Eastern Railway (SER), Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Kolkata has released an open advertisement for recruitment against the Scouts & Guides Quota for the year 2026-27. The recruitment is for 10 posts, including 02 posts in Level-2 (Group ‘C’) and 08 posts in Level-1 (Erstwhile Group ‘D’). The Employment Notice No. is RRC/SER/S&G Quota/2026-27 dated 01 September 2026.

Eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the RRC/SER website from 07 September 2026 to 06 October 2026. Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualification as well as the required Scouts & Guides qualifications. Selection will be based on a written/CBT examination, Scouts & Guides certificate marks and medical fitness.

The examination fee is payable online through Internet Banking, Debit Card or Credit Card. Candidates must indicate the account details for refund while filling the application.

South Eastern Railway Recruitment 2026-27 Qualification

Level-2 (Group ‘C’)

Candidates must fulfill either of the following educational requirements:

• Passed 12th (+2 stage) or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized Board/Institution.

OR

• Passed 10th from a recognized Board plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) / ITI approved by NCVT.

The 50% requirement is not insisted upon for SC, ST, ESM, PwBD candidates and candidates having higher qualification from a UGC-recognized University.

Candidates must also possess the prescribed Scouts & Guides qualification.

Level-1 (Erstwhile Group ‘D’)

Candidates must have:

• Passed 10th from a recognized Board; OR
• ITI; OR
• National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.

The prescribed Scouts & Guides qualification is also mandatory.

Scouts & Guides Qualification

For both Level-1 and Level-2, candidates must fulfill all the following requirements:

1. Should be a President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger OR Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holder in any section.
2. Should have been an active member of the Scouts Organization for the last 5 years.
3. Must have attended two National-level or All Indian Railways-level events AND two State-level events.
4. Certificate of Activeness must be submitted in the prescribed format.

South Eastern Railway Recruitment 2026-27 Age Limit

Age will be calculated as on 01 January 2027.

OBC candidates receive up to 3 years relaxation and SC/ST candidates up to 5 years relaxation. Additional relaxations are available for serving Railway employees, widows/divorced women, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, Course Completed Act Apprentices and other eligible categories as per the notification.

For example, eligible serving Railway employees can have the maximum age extended up to 40 years (UR), 43 years (OBC) and 45 years (SC/ST) for both Level-1 and Level-2.

South Eastern Railway Recruitment 2026-27 Salary

The posts are under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix:

• Level-2: Pay Level-2, corresponding to the earlier Grade Pay ₹1,900.
• Level-1: Pay Level-1, corresponding to the earlier Grade Pay ₹1,800.

The applicable Railway allowances and benefits will be provided as per prevailing rules.

South Eastern Railway Recruitment 2026-27 Selection Process

The selection process consists of:

1. Written/CBT Examination – 60 Marks
2. Scouts & Guides Certificates – 40 Marks
3. Medical Examination

Candidates scoring at least 40% marks in the written test will be considered for the next stage, with candidates up to five times the number of vacancies being called for certificate verification in order of merit. Overall merit is prepared on the basis of written-test marks and Scouts & Guides certificate marks.

Candidates recommended for appointment will subsequently undergo medical examination in the prescribed Railway medical category.

The examination will be conducted in bilingual format, and candidates can choose Hindi or English as the examination language.

How to Apply for South Eastern Railway Recruitment 2026-27

Eligible candidates should visit the official RRC/SER website and click on the “Online/E-Application for Scouts & Guides Quota / 2026-27” link.

Candidates need to complete New Registration, enter personal details, verify the registration number/password received through SMS/e-mail, and complete the application form. Candidates must upload their photograph, signature, LTI, educational certificates, category certificates wherever applicable and Scouts & Guides achievement certificates.

After completing the application and paying the applicable examination fee, candidates should submit the form and preserve the Unique Application/Registration Number. Candidates are advised to submit the application well before the closing date.

Manual applications sent directly to RRC/SER will not be accepted.
