PGIMER Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026:- Notification Out for 243 Posts

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh has released the official recruitment notification for 243 Nursing Officer (Group ‘B’) posts on a direct recruitment basis. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the official PGIMER website. The online registration process will start on 10 September 2026 and the last date to submit the online application is 03 October 2026. Educational Qualification

Candidates must fulfil any one of the following educational qualification routes:

• B.Sc. (Hons) in Nursing from a recognized University or Institute; OR
• Regular course in B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University or Institute; OR
• Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University or Institute.

Diploma in General Nursing and Mid-wifery from a recognized Board or Council;Registered as a Nurse or Nurse and Mid-wife with a State Nursing Council; andOne year experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital after acquiring the required educational qualification.

Age Limit

The prescribed age limit for the Nursing Officer post is:

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 35 Years

The upper age limit will be determined as on 03 October 2026. The date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate will be accepted for determining age.

Age Relaxation

Other applicable age relaxations are available for eligible Central Government Civilian Employees, permanent PGIMER employees and Ex-Servicemen as per the conditions mentioned in the official notification.

Application Fee

Salary / Pay Scale

Selected candidates for the Nursing Officer post will be appointed in:

Pay Level-7: ₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400/-

as per the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix.

Selection Process

The selection process for PGIMER Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026 consists of:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
2. Shortlisting based on CBT
3. Scrutiny of Applications/Documents
4. Document Verification
5. Final Selection on the basis of CBT Merit

There will be no interview for Group ‘B’ non-gazetted posts. Final selection will be made on merit based on marks obtained in the CBT after verification of eligibility and documents.
