MP Police Subedar Steno & ASI Qualification
Subedar (Ministerial) – Stenographer
Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary / 10+2. In addition, Hindi shorthand at 100 words per minute from a recognised MP board/council/polytechnic/ITI or equivalent institution is required. A CPCT certificate with Hindi typing is also mandatory.
For computer qualification, the rulebook accepts specified alternatives including a DOEACC diploma-level qualification, one-year COPA certificate from a recognised government ITI, Modern Office Management qualification, or a computer diploma from a UGC-recognised institution.
Assistant Sub Inspector (Ministerial)
Candidates must have passed 12th Class / Higher Secondary (10+2) from a recognised board/institution. CPCT certificate with Hindi typing is mandatory. The prescribed computer qualification can also be fulfilled through specified qualifications such as Engineering Degree, MCA, BCA, M.Sc. Computer Science/IT, AICTE-approved Polytechnic Diploma, DOEACC diploma, COPA, Modern Office Management or recognised computer diploma.
The required qualifications must be possessed within the prescribed eligibility period; qualifications obtained after the relevant cut-off are not considered.

Second Stage Practical Test – Subedar Stenographer
The practical test carries 100 marks, has a duration of one hour, and requires at least 30% marks.
The Hindi shorthand test involves dictation at 100 words per minute for 5 minutes, followed by transcription/typing. Two Hindi shorthand dictations are conducted. Each dictation carries 10 marks and each transcription carries 40 marks.
Second Stage Practical Test – ASI Ministerial
The ASI practical test is also of 100 marks, with a duration of one hour and a minimum qualifying requirement of 30%. Candidates are required to type two Hindi passages of 600 words each, with 30 minutes allotted for each passage. Each passage carries 50 marks.
