Electrical total reservation includes UR 16, OBC-NCL 10, SC 6, ST 2 and EWS 3. Computer Science has UR 7, OBC-NCL 4, SC 2, ST 1 and EWS 1. PwBD reservation is horizontal.
GRID-INDIA Executive Trainee Age Limit
The maximum age is 28 years as on 31 July 2027. Candidates should have been born on or after 1 August 1999. Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules, including 3 years for OBC-NCL, 5 years for SC/ST, and 10 years for PwBD over and above the applicable category relaxation.
GRID-INDIA Executive Trainee Selection Process
The selection process consists of:
- GATE 2027 Score
- Group Discussion (GD)
- Personal Interview (PI)
Candidates qualifying in the relevant GATE 2027 paper will be considered for the next stage. Shortlisting for GD and PI will be carried out category-wise on the basis of normalized GATE marks. Candidates must participate in all prescribed stages and qualify the Personal Interview for final empanelment.

The GD carries no qualifying marks. The interview qualifying percentage is 40% for UR/EWS and 30% for OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwBD, for posts reserved for the respective categories.
Important: Only the GATE 2027 normalized score will be considered. GATE 2026 or earlier scores are not valid for this recruitment.
GRID-INDIA Executive Trainee Salary
Selected candidates will initially be placed at E2 level with a pay scale of ₹50,000–₹1,60,000 IDA for one year of On-the-Job Training. After successful completion of training, Executive Trainees will be regularized at E2 level in the same pay scale. Other applicable benefits include Performance Related Pay, HRA/company accommodation, medical facilities, insurance, PF, gratuity, pension and other allowances.
Service Agreement Bond
Selected Executive Trainees must execute a service agreement requiring successful completion of training and subsequent service in the organization for at least three years.

Candidates first need to appear in and qualify for the relevant GATE 2027 examination. After the GATE 2027 results are declared, GRID-INDIA will open its separate online application window and issue a notification on its website. Eligible candidates must register through the GRID-INDIA online application system using their GATE 2027 details, including the application number, registration number and score. Applicants must pay the applicable ₹500 online fee, while exempted categories do not have to pay the fee. No hard copy of the application needs to be sent to GRID-INDIA.
Candidates should note that they may be posted anywhere in India or abroad according to organizational requirements. No request for change of posting will be entertained during the first five years from joining as Executive Trainee.
