The Indian Coast Guard (ICG), Directorate of Recruitment, Noida has released the official notification for Recruitment of Group ‘B’ Civilian Personnel – 2026. Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens for the post of Foreman of Stores through direct recruitment. A total of 04 vacancies have been notified under UR, ST and EWS categories.

The online application process does not apply to this recruitment; candidates have to submit the prescribed application form through ordinary post. The application process starts from 19 September 2026, and the last date for receipt of applications is 03 November 2026. Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India, including mainland India, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

Indian Coast Guard Foreman of Stores Recruitment 2026 Vacancy & Qualification

Educational Qualification – Option 1

Candidates should possess a Master’s Degree in any one of the following subjects from a recognized University or Institute:

• Economics
• Commerce
• Statistics
• Business Studies
• Public Administration

AND

One year of experience in handling stores and keeping accounts in a store in a Central/State Government organization, Statutory/Autonomous Organization, Public Sector Undertaking, University, recognized institution, Bank, or a private sector organization listed on the Stock Exchange of India.

Educational Qualification – Option 2

Candidates may alternatively possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Commerce, Statistics, Business Studies or Public Administration from a recognized University/Institute;

OR

• Diploma in Material Management, Warehousing Management, Purchasing, Logistics or Public Procurement from a recognized University/Institute;

AND

Two years’ experience in handling stores and keeping accounts in a store in the specified Government, PSU, University, recognized institution, Bank or eligible private-sector organization.

Indian Coast Guard Foreman of Stores Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

The prescribed age limit is 18 to 30 years. The age will be calculated as on the last date of submission of the application, i.e. 03 November 2026. Age relaxation is available by 5 years for ST candidates against reserved vacancies and for eligible Government servants as per Central Government instructions/orders.

Indian Coast Guard Foreman of Stores Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection process consists of:

1. Scrutiny of Applications
2. Document Verification
3. Written Examination
4. Merit List

Only applications fulfilling the prescribed eligibility and document requirements will be shortlisted for the examination. The admit card will be sent by post in the envelope enclosed with the application, and the shortlisted candidate list will also be published on the Indian Coast Guard website.

The written examination will be pen-and-paper based, bilingual and will contain 80 objective questions, with one mark for each correct answer and no negative marking. The final merit list will be prepared based strictly on marks obtained in the written examination.

The syllabus includes Mathematics, English, General Awareness, Reasoning and questions related to the profession, particularly supply-chain management, receipt/storage/disbursement of supplies and materials, store ledgers and connected documents.
