Sports achievement must have been acquired between 01 April 2024 and the date of notification, and the candidate should be an active sportsperson.
RRC WR Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
- The candidate’s age should be minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on 01 January 2027.
- Candidates born between 01 January 2002 and 01 January 2009, both dates inclusive, are eligible to apply.
- No separate upper-age relaxation is specified in the main eligibility clause; candidates should follow the applicable provisions of the notification.

Final appointment is based purely on merit. Where candidates obtain equal marks, preference is given to the younger candidate.

The initial appointment will carry the minimum pay of the applicable Pay Level plus admissible allowances. During training, only the applicable stipend will be paid.

RRC WR Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 Application Process
Candidates have to apply online through the official RRC Western Railway website. They should enter their personal, educational and sports details carefully, upload the required documents and photograph/signature, and pay the applicable examination fee online.
Candidates must enter their 12-digit Aadhaar number during registration, or the prescribed Aadhaar Enrolment ID where applicable. The name, father’s name and date of birth should exactly match the educational and sports certificates.
Candidates applying for more than one discipline or more than one Pay Level must submit separate applications with separate fees. No application printout or certificates need to be sent to RRC-WR by post after online submission, but the application printout must be produced during the Selection Trial.

- Only active sportspersons meeting the prescribed sports norms are eligible.
- Sports achievements from 01 April 2024 onwards are considered.
- Candidates must be ready to attend trials at short notice after the closing date.
- No TA/DA or accommodation is provided for Selection Trials.
- Candidates must bring their own sports kit and four passport-size photographs.
- Trials may require candidates to stay for 2–3 days at their own expense.
- Selected candidates can be posted anywhere on Western Railway.
- A 5-year Service Bond is required at the time of appointment.
- Appointment is subject to medical fitness, document verification and antecedent/character verification.
- Candidates are selected only if they are fit for the Western Railway Sports Association team.
